Overview:
We are seeking applications for a full-time, tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Associate Professor in the field of Special Education. The successful candidate will be expected to have substantial experience in K-12 inclusive and special education environments, as well as in teacher training focused on various disability categories. A graduate degree in inclusive education, disability studies, or a related discipline from an accredited institution is essential. A doctorate or ABD in special education or a closely related field is preferred, alongside experience in supervising student teachers. Candidates who can showcase innovative instructional designs and the ability to create engaging content across diverse modalities, including online and hybrid formats, will be given preference. The role involves teaching special education and education courses to future educators preparing for certification across all levels, as well as contributing to the general education curriculum for non-education majors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver undergraduate and graduate courses in special education and education to education majors through various teaching formats, including traditional, hybrid, and online.
  • Facilitate undergraduate courses in the general education curriculum as needed, utilizing diverse delivery methods.
  • Engage students in research initiatives and other scholarly activities.
  • Contribute to the development, implementation, and evaluation of the education curriculum.
  • Assist in the creation of new traditional and online courses and support the transition of existing courses to distance learning formats.
  • Incorporate best practices in online education delivery.
  • Uphold high standards of integrity by supporting the mission, vision, and values of Keuka College and adhering to institutional policies.
  • Ensure student privacy in compliance with FERPA regulations.
  • Maintain regular and reliable attendance on campus.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • At least three years of successful full-time teaching experience in special education for Pre-K through Grade 12 in the USA.
  • State-issued teaching certification in early childhood, childhood, and/or adolescent special education.
  • Demonstrated excellence in undergraduate and/or graduate teaching.
  • A proven commitment to student-centered educational practices.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • High level of integrity and confidentiality.
  • Ability to address the needs and concerns of students, faculty, and staff effectively.
  • Experience working with diverse populations.
  • Capability to develop and deliver engaging and rigorous content across various instructional formats.
