Job Summary

The Division of Humanities and Fine Arts at Keuka College is seeking adjunct instructors to teach composition courses in our first-year writing program. We value quality in teaching and seek enthusiastic faculty who enjoy working closely with undergraduate students.

Responsibilities
  • Teach writing courses, including English 100, English 110, and English 112
  • Instruct students in courses in the English writing program
  • Plan course instruction based on approved syllabi, goals, and objectives
  • Design, administer, and grade essays, examinations, and applicable projects to assess student learning outcomes
  • Create a classroom environment conducive to learning and engage students actively
  • Maintain regular office hours to meet with students
  • Work with the Program Director to ensure instructional quality and program quality
  • Contribute to program assessment of student learning outcomes in writing
  • Adhere to College policies and procedures
Requirements
  • Master's degree in English, writing, or a related field required; doctorate preferred
  • Demonstrated excellence in college teaching
  • Demonstrated proficiency in using computer applications, online resources, and other technologies in the classroom
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and integrity
  • Ability to work under pressure and with diverse groups of people
Physical Requirements
  • Occasional evening hours/weekends
  • Occasional lifting up to 25 lbs
Salary

$1,000 per course credit
