About this role:

The School Nurse is a vital position within our district, responsible for promoting the emotional, mental, physical, and social well-being of students. This role involves maintaining a safe and healthy environment, working closely with students, teachers, and parents to ensure the best possible outcomes.

As a School Nurse, you will be assigned to work across the district in one or multiple school locations, depending on the needs of the schools. Your primary goal will be to remove, modify, or reduce health-related barriers to learning, providing well student care, health care, first aid, immunizations, and assistance to students at assigned schools.

You will also be responsible for performing screenings for scoliosis, vision, hearing, height, and weight, and/or other conditions, making referrals and follow-up as needed. Additionally, you will complete, update, and maintain student records using District software systems and may supervise health paraprofessionals and other health staff in assigned locations.

To be successful in this role, you will need to have a Bachelor's Degree of Science in Nursing and a current Colorado Department of Education Special Service Provider License - School Nurse. You will also need to be licensed as a registered nurse by the State of Colorado and possess a current certificate for Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR).
