Job Summary:The School Social Worker will provide direct and indirect services to students, including counseling, social skills instruction, and behavioral support. You will work closely with teachers, staff, and families to develop and implement effective interventions and accommodations to support student success.
Responsibilities:- Provide direct and indirect services to students with IEPs and/or Section 504 plans, including counseling, social skills instruction, and behavioral support.
- Analyze data to identify students who may require additional support and develop strategies to address their needs.
- Collaborate with teachers and staff to develop and implement effective interventions and accommodations to support student success.
- Provide social skills instruction and behavioral support to students who require additional support.
- Work with families to develop and implement behavior management plans and provide support to help them understand their child's educational disability.
- Provide information and referrals to community resources to support students and their families.
- Bachelor's Degree in Social Work or related field required; Master's Degree in Social Work preferred.
- Full licensure requirements for the role are accessible via the Colorado Department of Education website.
- Working knowledge of the principles, practices, and ethical standards of School Social Work.
- Contemporary knowledge of community resources and support systems available to assist students and their families.
- Ability to work effectively and appropriately with students, families, and other educational professionals.
- 100% coverage of supervision hours over a 24-month period for newly-qualified Social Workers.
