The Electronic Warfare & Signal Processing division is seeking a seasoned Lead Systems Software Architect. This role demands a profound understanding and technical acumen in Systems and Software Engineering to facilitate the design, development, and implementation of software solutions that incorporate advanced RF capabilities to counter emerging threats.
This position necessitates the ability to spearhead technical solutions for cross-functional technical teams throughout all stages of project capture and development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Innovate solutions to intricate technical challenges involving multiple subsystems and system interactions as an Individual Contributor, Technical Lead, or both.
- Collaborate with program leadership to guide a multi-disciplinary engineering team in defining, developing, and prototyping software capabilities and interfaces, evolving current software and system architectures to meet customer-defined requirements.
- Actively engage in establishing team objectives and provide solutions to complex technical tasks, including software and system-level integration of real-time software, modeling and simulation, rapid prototype software development, system integration with development pipelines, and field demonstrations.
- Comprehend the customer's architectural needs and desired capabilities, participating in requirements decomposition to ensure proper allocation to technical architecture elements.
- Offer systems/software engineering expertise for proposals on targeted future development initiatives.
Learning Opportunities:
- Enhance verbal and written communication skills for effective engagement with program management, technical team members, customers, subcontractors, and industry partners.
- Manage products throughout their lifecycle and support new business initiatives, focusing on front-end development with a vision towards transitioning to end users/systems.
Required Qualifications:
- A bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of ten (10) years of engineering experience, or an advanced degree with eight (8) years of engineering experience.
- Proficiency in developing and maintaining software systems using languages such as C, C++, Java, Python, and MATLAB within both Windows and Linux environments.
- Experience with system interface definition, documentation, and implementation.
- Familiarity with software architecture design principles in areas such as requirements development, interface definitions, architecture development, implementation, integration, or testing.
- An active and transferable U.S. government-issued Secret security clearance is required prior to the start date, with U.S. citizenship necessary for eligibility.
Preferred Qualifications:
- An active DoD Top Secret clearance with an investigation within the last five years.
- Experience in leading and mentoring technical teams of junior to mid-level systems engineers and analysts, interfacing with customers, and balancing development priorities with immediate and long-term program objectives.
- Knowledge in Signal Processing (AMTI), Tracking, Communications, or Resource Management.
- Familiarity with Systems and Software Engineering processes and best practices for Continuous Integration/Continuous Development.
- Experience in analyzing engineering challenges and identifying root causes.
- Background in DevOps automation across various operating systems, including Linux.
