As the company transitions to a new ERP system, this individual will be crucial in its design and implementation. Key Responsibilities:

1. Financial Reporting
• Prepare, review, and confirm the accuracy of financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
• Support the monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes, including journal entry preparation and general ledger account reconciliation.
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure the accurate and timely recording of all financial transactions.
• Assist in drafting monthly/quarterly memos for the board of directors and ownership.

2. Audit and Compliance
• Coordinate and assist with the annual audit, providing necessary documentation and explanations.
• Ensure proper documentation of all accounting records and transactions for audit and compliance purposes.
• Aid in developing and maintaining accounting policies and procedures to ensure consistency and adherence to GAAP.
• Provide technical accounting guidance to the team and address complex accounting issues.

3. Budgeting and Forecasting
• Assist in the formulation of annual budgets and forecasts.
• Monitor and analyze budget variances, offering insights and recommendations to management.
• Develop models to analyze and justify capital projects.

4. Process Improvement
• Play a vital role in the design and implementation of a new ERP system.
• Identify and execute process enhancements to improve the efficiency and accuracy of the accounting function.
• Stay updated with changes in GAAP and other accounting standards.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting. CPA certification is mandatory.
• A minimum of 3-5 years of accounting experience.
• Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting requirements.
• Familiarity with SAP Business One and Quickbooks is advantageous.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational abilities.
• Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience in the oil and gas sector is a plus.
