Position Overview:
Engage in professional auditing activities focused on the assessment and analysis of municipal sectors, including departments, divisions, and operational functions. This role also encompasses the evaluation of external firms engaged in business with the city, particularly through financial, operational, compliance, and performance audits.


Qualifications:

To qualify for this position, candidates must meet one of the following educational and professional experience criteria:

  • Master's Degree: An advanced degree from an accredited institution along with three (3) years of relevant professional experience in conducting audits or investigations related to performance, compliance, operations, or financial matters.
  • Bachelor's Degree: An undergraduate degree from an accredited institution coupled with five (5) years of pertinent professional experience in similar auditing or investigative roles.
Note:

Professional experience is defined as work performed in a role that necessitated a Bachelor's degree for entry. Verification of educational qualifications will be conducted prior to appointment.


Examination Process:

Candidates will undergo a written examination designed to assess competencies in Basic Management Principles, Decision-Making, Organizational Skills, Interpersonal Communication, Written Communication, and Mathematics. This examination will carry a weight of 100% in the evaluation process.


Application Guidelines:

All applications must be submitted within the designated timeframe, and candidates must meet all minimum qualifications as outlined in the job announcement.


Probationary Period:

A probationary period of one year is applicable for all positions within the classified service.


Substance Abuse Policy:

The city maintains a rigorous substance abuse testing program. Candidates for specific roles that impact public safety may be required to undergo pre-employment substance abuse screening.


Character Requirements:

All applicants must demonstrate good moral character. Disqualification may occur if an applicant's character or past employment history is deemed unsatisfactory.


Veterans Preference:

Veterans and certain family members may receive additional credit in the examination process as outlined in the Veterans Preference claim form.
