We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Automation Engineer to join our Site Services team at Genentech. As a key member of our Facility Systems & Plant Engineering (FSPE) team, you will provide technical support to ensure the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of automation systems owned and supported by Site Services at our South San Francisco and Dixon sites.
Key Responsibilities- Act as Technical System Owner (TSO) for various automation platforms and control systems
- Lead the design, development, and implementation of Building Automation Systems (BAS) using Siemens Desigo, ALC, and Aveeva PI technologies
- Conduct system performance analysis and implement corrective actions
- Provide customer support and resolve hardware and software application issues
- Lead and maintain server infrastructure, including system patching, upgrades, backups, operating procedures, and system manuals
- Over 12 years of experience designing and supporting BAS specific automation systems in manufacturing or critical operations environments
- Experience with industrial networks and communication protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, Windows Networking, OPC, BACnet, MODBUS)
- Strong hands-on technical experience in BAS, networks, and data systems
- Experience with Windows based programming, IIS Web Application Configuration, and data management
- Understanding of cGMP regulations and Good Engineering Practices (GEP)
Genentech is an equal opportunity employer and offers a competitive salary range of $134,800 - $250,400, based on experience, qualifications, and geographic location. A discretionary annual bonus may be available based on individual and Company performance. This position also qualifies for the benefits detailed at the link provided below.
