Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Automation Engineer to join our Site Services team at Genentech. As a key member of our Facility Systems & Plant Engineering team, you will be responsible for designing, installing, troubleshooting, and maintaining critical automation and technology infrastructure for a portfolio of 50+ buildings and ~6 million square feet of space.

Key Responsibilities
  • Act as Technical System Owner (TSO) for various automation platforms, control systems, and system applications.
  • Lead the design, development, and implementation of Building Automation Systems (BAS) using Siemens Desigo, ALC, and Aveeva PI technologies.
  • Conduct system performance analysis and implement corrective actions.
  • Provide customer support and resolve hardware and software application issues.
  • Lead and maintain server infrastructure, including system patching, upgrade, backups, operating procedures, and system manuals.
  • Develop and lead vendor-partner relationships, support contracts, and vendor resources.
Requirements
  • Over 12 years of experience designing and supporting BAS specific automation systems in manufacturing or critical operations environments.
  • Recent experience in a pharmaceutical or manufacturing environment.
  • Strong hands-on technical experience in BAS, networks, data systems, and industrial networks and communication protocols.
  • Experience with Windows based programming, IIS web application configuration, data management, and cGMP regulations and Good Engineering Practices.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, along with system-specific certifications.
What We Offer
