Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Psychiatric Advanced Practice RN to join our team at the Texas Department of Aging & Disability Services. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide comprehensive psychiatric care to individuals, including assessment, diagnosis, and treatment planning. Your expertise will be essential in ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care and contributing to a positive and supportive work environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assess and diagnose psychiatric disorders, developing and implementing individualized treatment plans.
  • Prescribe medications, including antipsychotics, and order laboratory and diagnostic testing as needed.
  • Provide comprehensive psychiatric care, including conducting rounds, leading Recovery Team Meetings, and participating in court hearings.
  • Oversee and develop accurate and timely documentation, including annual summaries and evaluations of assessments and compliance with policies and procedures.
  • Participate in the hospital-wide quality assessment and performance improvement program, monitoring compliance with standards and developing plans of correction.
Requirements:
  • Master's degree in Nursing or related field.
  • Current licensure as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) in the state of Texas.
  • Experience in psychiatric nursing, with a focus on assessment, diagnosis, and treatment planning.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with individuals, families, and healthcare teams.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a focus on delivering high-quality patient care and contributing to a positive work environment.
