Job Summary

UT Health San Antonio seeks a highly skilled Psychiatric Professional Nurse Practitioner to provide primary level of care in collaboration with physicians and other members of the healthcare team to a specific patient population in the outpatient and/or inpatient setting.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide comprehensive psychiatric care to patients in a collaborative and interdisciplinary environment.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to meet the unique needs of each patient.
  • Collaborate with physicians, social workers, and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care.
  • Conduct thorough assessments, diagnoses, and treatment of patients with psychiatric disorders.
  • Prescribe and manage medications as needed.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest research, best practices, and evidence-based treatments in psychiatric care.
Requirements:
  • Master's degree in Nursing or related field.
  • Current licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) and Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) in the state of Texas.
  • Board certification as a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC).
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in psychiatric nursing.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
