Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Physician to join our team at the Charles K. Post Addiction Treatment Center. As a Clinical Physician, you will be responsible for providing medical care to patients, obtaining medical histories, performing physical examinations, ordering medications and procedures, and authorizing admissions and rendering admitting diagnoses.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee medical care provided to patients and ensure high-quality patient care.
  • Provide individual and group health education and risk reduction counseling to patients.
  • Be available for consultation, direction, and on-site care on evenings, weekends, and during off hours.
  • Serve as a health advisor to the multi-disciplinary team and provide consultation/peer review to other physicians/clinicians.
  • Supervise nurse practitioners and actively participate in activities intended to improve patient care and facility operations.
  • Assist in patient discharge planning, especially in terms of health care needs, and meet with patients prior to discharge.
Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must possess a license and current registration to practice medicine in New York State, as well as one to two years of post-licensure medical experience, depending on the level of the position. You must also be eligible for full and unconditional participation in the Medicaid and Medicare programs.

What We Offer

We offer a competitive salary range of $113.56 to $113.56 hourly, as well as a per diem employment type and a temporary appointment. The position requires a 5% travel percentage and a workweek of 19 hours per week, with a workday from 12 AM to 11:30 PM. We also offer a tobacco-free facility and a computerized patient record system.
