POSITION SUMMARY
The Clinical Support Specialist plays a vital role in assisting the Bone and Joint Institute by providing essential clinical support. Responsibilities include:
- Communicating clinical information effectively to patients and external partners.
- Scheduling diagnostic tests and consultations.
- Collecting clinical specimens and conducting assessments.
- Performing clinical office procedures and ensuring the availability of necessary supplies.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Education:
- High school diploma required.
- Medical Assistant Certification must be obtained within 90 days of employment or a current LPN license is acceptable.
Experience:
- A minimum of one year of experience in a medical office setting is preferred.
Skills:
- Proficiency in using medical equipment such as glucometers, blood pressure cuffs, thermometers, and computers.
Physical Environment:
- Primarily office-based work.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to sit, stand, communicate effectively in English, and lift items weighing over 20 pounds.
PERFORMANCE STANDARDS
- Accurately document patient medical histories and vital signs.
- Administer immunizations and injections as needed.
- Provide health-related counseling to patients.
- Manage inventory of clinical supplies and medications.
- Facilitate referrals to other medical services.
