Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Veterinary Technician I to join our team at the Colorado State University Veterinary Teaching Hospital. As a key member of our Intermediate Care unit, you will provide exceptional veterinary care and service to our patients, working closely with our veterinarians, students, and other support staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide perioperative care to hospitalized patients, including recovery from anesthesia and administration of medications as needed.
  • Work in partnership with our PVM students and primary VTH clinicians to ensure the highest level of patient care.
  • Communicate effectively with other services regarding patient care and transport, and accurately perform basic drug calculations.
  • Maintain equipment and supplies in the IC unit, and adhere to VTH purchasing and Central Supply protocol.
  • Document patient information and ensure accurate billing before discharge.
Requirements
  • An associate degree in veterinary/animal health technology and one year of experience in animal medicinal care, anesthesia administration, and/or veterinary surgery.
  • Credentialed in the State of Colorado and registered through DORA.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and provide excellent patient care.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Relative experience commensurate with the specific position to be filled.
  • Experience in animal sedation and anesthetic and surgical patient recovery.
