Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Veterinary Technician to join our team at the Colorado State University Veterinary Teaching Hospital. As a Registered Veterinary Technician, you will play a critical role in providing exceptional care to our patients in the Intermediate Care unit.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality patient care, including administering medications, fluids, and other treatments as needed.
  • Work closely with the primary VTH clinician and PVM students to ensure seamless patient care.
  • Communicate effectively with other services regarding patient care and transport.
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure patient readiness for discharge.
  • Perform routine maintenance and upkeep of equipment and supplies in the IC unit.
Requirements
  • Registered as a Veterinary Technician (VT) or Provisional Veterinary Technician (PVT) through the Department of Regulatory Agencies (DORA).
  • Graduate of an accredited veterinary technician program with greater than 1 year's experience in veterinary medicine.
  • Ability to place intravenous catheters and perform venipuncture.
  • Strong computer skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Experience working in a veterinary teaching hospital or similar setting.
  • Certification through the Colorado Association of Certified Veterinary Technicians (CACVT).
