We are seeking a highly skilled Veterinary Technician II to join our team at Colorado State University. As a Veterinary Technician II, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care and assisting with veterinary procedures in our anesthesia service.
Key Responsibilities- Provide anesthesia care for animals undergoing general elective procedures, diagnostic tests, and routine and emergency surgeries.
- Assist with preanesthetic patient evaluation, anesthetic agent selection, and monitoring of anesthetized patients.
- Collaborate with veterinarians and veterinary students to provide exceptional patient care and education.
- Develop and maintain a flexible schedule with daytime hours between 7am-5:30pm Monday through Friday.
- Participate in cross-training in all areas of the Anesthesia service, including large and small animal, research, and Continuing Education.
- Registered as a Veterinary Technician (VT) or Provisional Veterinary Technician (PVT) through the Department of Regulatory Agencies (DORA) or eligibility to obtain a state of Colorado DORA license by start date.
- Credentialed in the State of Colorado or other eligible state determined by CACVT.
- Graduate of accredited veterinary technician program with greater than two (2) years' experience in veterinary medicine.
- Excellent technical skills, including IV catheter placement, endotracheal intubation, and knowledge of proper anesthetic monitoring.
- Ability to work well within a team environment and maintain a positive attitude.
- Ability to remain calm in stressful situations and provide exceptional patient care.
