Job Summary

We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced faculty member to join our team as a 9-month faculty member in the Emergency Medical Services (EMS) program. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching EMS courses, serving as the clinical coordinator, and overseeing the day-to-day operations of the program.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach EMS courses in traditional, hybrid, and distance learning formats
  • Serve as the clinical coordinator for the EMS program
  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the program
  • Develop and implement curriculum for EMS courses
  • Assess student learning and provide feedback
  • Participate in program evaluation and accreditation
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in teaching field or associate's degree in teaching field with demonstrated competency
  • Two years of full-time (or full-time equivalent) related occupational experience
  • Current National Registry Paramedic certification and/or Registered Nurse with EMS experience
  • Current AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) provider certification
  • Current AHA Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) provider certification
  • Current AHA Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) provider certification
Preferred Qualifications
  • One year of Basic and Advanced life support level EMS teaching experience
  • Current licensure as a Registered Nurse with one year of Emergency Department experience
  • At least two years of previous advanced life support level experience as a pre-hospital EMS provider
  • International Trauma Life Support (ITLS) or Pre-Hospital Trauma Life Support (PHTLS) Provider certification
  • Current VaOEMs Education Coordinator (EC) certification
Working Conditions

The successful candidate will be required to work in a fast-paced environment and be able to multitask effectively. The candidate must also be able to work independently and as part of a team.
