Overview
The Retail Operations Supervisor plays a crucial role in overseeing the daily functions of a convenience store. This position ensures that all operations run efficiently in the absence of the Store Manager.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver exceptional service by ensuring that all staff provide courteous and timely assistance to customers.
  • Manage cash register operations, including the collection, verification, and maintenance of cash levels, while accurately reporting all financial transactions.
  • Facilitate customer transactions with precision and ensure adherence to regulations regarding age-restricted products such as lottery tickets, tobacco, and alcohol.
  • Exemplify high standards of professionalism and work ethic, setting a positive example for the team.
  • Oversee all cleaning and maintenance tasks within the store, ensuring a tidy and welcoming environment.
  • Maintain the store and surrounding areas in compliance with health and safety standards and company policies.
  • Effectively communicate any issues or concerns to the Store Manager in a timely manner.
  • Handle sensitive information with discretion and professionalism.
  • Assist the Store Manager with inventory management, ordering, and tracking sales performance.
  • Ensure accurate reporting and depositing of daily sales revenue.
  • Identify and address inventory discrepancies and control issues.
  • Propose improvements to enhance service quality, productivity, and sales performance.
  • Display and organize merchandise according to marketing guidelines.
  • Ensure all equipment and facilities are maintained in good working condition.
  • Address maintenance concerns that arise during shifts.
  • Provide training and support to team members, overseeing their productivity.
  • Recommend disciplinary actions, training opportunities, or promotions in the absence of the Store Manager.
  • Educate employees on sanitation standards and practices.
  • Share responsibilities for shift coverage during staff shortages.
  • Complete necessary errands, including banking and monitoring competitive pricing.
  • Adjust gas prices as needed.
  • Restock and manage inventory levels throughout the store.
  • Be prepared to work in various weather conditions, both indoors and outdoors.
  • Adhere to all company policies consistently.
  • Act as the Person in Charge (PIC) when the Store Manager is unavailable.
Essential Skills
  • Proficient in using computers, mobile devices, and other electronic tools.
  • Strong communication skills in English, including speaking, listening, reading, and writing.
  • Ability to perform multiple roles across different workstations as needed.
  • Commitment to punctuality and reliability in attendance.
  • Capable of multitasking in a fast-paced environment.
  • Exhibit a positive attitude and high energy, along with excellent customer service skills.
  • Collaborate effectively with colleagues and contribute to a team-oriented atmosphere.
  • Thorough understanding of company policies and procedures.
  • Possess a valid driver's license, proof of insurance, and a reliable vehicle for travel to various locations.
Physical Requirements

The physical demands outlined here are representative of those required to successfully perform the essential functions of this role.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods.
  • Frequent walking, bending, stretching, and other physical movements.
  • Must be able to lift, push, or pull up to 30 lbs.
  • Ability to access products in cold storage areas.
  • Tolerance for exposure to cleaning chemicals.
  • Must wear required personal protective equipment, including gloves and slip-resistant shoes.
Work Schedule

This is a full-time, non-exempt position requiring a minimum of 45 hours per week, with a rotating schedule based on business needs, including potential weekend and holiday shifts.

Qualifications
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Basic accounting knowledge is necessary.
  • May need to obtain specific certifications based on location.
Preferred Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Prior experience with Rutter's or similar establishments.
  • Experience in retail or customer service roles.
  • Previous management or leadership experience is advantageous.
