Position Summary

The Sales and Administrative Support Specialist is a temporary, part-time role responsible for being the first point of contact for incoming inquiries and visitors. This position is essential in providing general office assistance to volunteers and staff across various departments, while also managing daily retail operations under the guidance of the Retail Manager.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee all aspects of retail sales operations, utilizing the point-of-sale (POS) system for transactions, returns, and financial reporting.
  • Deliver prompt and courteous service to a diverse clientele, assisting with product selections and addressing program inquiries.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of organizational programs, offerings, and resources.
  • Ensure accuracy in all retail transactions and inventory management.
  • Assist in the ordering, receiving, and displaying of merchandise.
  • Support training initiatives for retail staff and participate in relevant training sessions.
  • Coordinate inventory management processes and assist with financial transactions.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the retail space and stockroom.
  • Contribute to promotional displays and in-store marketing efforts.
  • Manage mail and delivery services for the retail location.
  • Participate in recruitment events and community outreach initiatives as needed.
Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Experience in a supervisory role is advantageous.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to foster effective relationships.
  • Ability to motivate and lead a team.
  • Excellent planning and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and POS systems.
  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as required.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills; bilingual preferred.
  • Ability to lift and move items up to 25 pounds.
Work Environment

The role requires regular interaction with staff and the public, necessitating strong communication skills and a professional demeanor. The position may involve standing for extended periods and managing various physical tasks associated with retail operations.
