Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Category Management Specialist to join our team at Kroger. As a Category Management Specialist, you will be responsible for managing a discrete category area of responsibility, including assortment planning, data analysis, and vendor communication.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement assortment plans for a smaller category area of responsibility, including recommendations for adds, deletes, and planograms.
  • Manage data analysis and communication with vendors, 84.51, and Our Brands to ensure timely and comprehensive input.
  • Validate local requests with data analysis and align on jointly-defined KPIs with the division.
  • Support planogram process, including organizing templates and PCOE communications.
  • Monitor SKU performance on an ongoing assortment to meet financial and strategic goals.
  • Make recommendations on category budgets, forecasts, and plans, identifying trends in business and competitive landscape.
  • Support assortment work and testing process for CMs.
  • Assist with ad-hoc analysis to drive business forward, such as evaluating decisions to deviate from pricing algorithm recommendations.
  • Be proficient across all systems, including NEXT and Stratum.
  • Support CM in driving promotional strategy to engage customers and drive excitement.
  • Review past ad performance and information on shelf capacity, store sales, and display locations to inform future promotional recommendations.
  • Assist in supply chain issue resolution with replenishment, updating CMs before regular checkpoints.

Qualifications

  • Excellent oral/written communication skills.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Strong attention to detail.
