Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Operations Manager to oversee the financial performance and productivity of multiple Operating Units within our organization. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of success in managing teams, implementing organizational initiatives, and driving business growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and Implement Operating Plans: Develop and implement area of responsibility operating plans that align with the company's long-range objectives, enhance effectiveness, and delineate responsibilities and authority.
- Lead and Develop Direct Reports: Develop and lead direct reports, providing coaching, mentoring, and performance management to ensure their success.
- Review and Evaluate Performance: Continuously review and evaluate performance with an area of responsibility, establishing proper performance measures and providing feedback to direct reports.
- Counsel and Direct Managers: Counsel managers on the execution of programs and provide direction for modification in work plans or implementation of contingency plans as needed.
- Develop Operating Unit Budgets: Develop operating unit budgets in a timely manner, forecasting financial and human resource needs for future time periods.
- Assist with Budget Optimization: Assist managers in budget optimization and provide budget compliance support.
- Oversee Department Personnel: Oversee department personnel needs, including selecting, coaching, and training employees, and evaluating employee performance.
- Organize Resources: Organize and schedule all necessary resources required to accomplish activities.
- Attend P&L Reviews: Attend regularly scheduled Profit and Loss (P&L) reviews and execute prescribed programs on routing equipment utilization, equipment maintenance, and labor and material costs.
- Implement Safety Programs: Implement and maintain programs to improve the Market Area's safety, productivity, and profitability, ensuring compliance with the Department of Transportation (DOT)/Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSHA) and other Federal and State regulations.
Requirements:
- Education and Experience: An Associate's Degree (accredited) or equivalent, with two years of relevant work experience in Operations Management, including at least three years managing a team of two or more individuals.
- Certificates, Licenses, Registrations or Other Requirements: Must be able to maintain a valid driver's license and clean driving record throughout the duration of employment in this position.
- Other Knowledge, Skills or Abilities Required: Experience in a position involving operations, customer service, community relations, health and safety, financial and human resources functions, experience as a supervisor or manager, experience implementing safety (OSHA) programs and equipment specifications, experience preparing and managing budgets, and experience resolving labor relations issues.
