About the Position

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Certified Court Reporter to join our team at Jamison Professional Services. As a Court Reporter, you will be responsible for providing accurate and timely transcription services for various legal proceedings.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide court reporting services for remote and in-person proceedings, including travel to designated locations as required.
  • Utilize various technologies, such as telephone, VTEL, VANTS, or Lync, to provide off-site support services.
  • Transcribe recorded material using stenographic machines or computers, and dictate material into recording machines as needed.
  • Read portions of transcripts during investigation hearings and ask speakers to clarify inaudible statements as requested.
  • Be available to work Monday through Friday, 8 am to 5 pm, in various time zones across the Continental United States.
  • Continue with assignments that last more than one day or several days, as required.
  • Reimburse travel expenses for assignments outside your area, as per company policy.
  • Arrive at designated locations at least 30 minutes prior to the start time of hearings, and make telephone contact with presiding officials at least 30 minutes prior to the start time of telephonic hearings.
  • Hold a valid Notary Public license and be competent to administer oaths, as well as carry Notary Public Errors and Omissions Insurance.
  • Send recordings to the JPS secured VPN Portal immediately after completing individual assignments.
  • Hold certifications in accordance with state laws where services are performed, and be able to provide certification upon request.
Background Requirements
  • Undergo a candidate-level background investigation and clearance, which may include a Tier One National Agency Check and Inquires (NACI) and a Special Agreement Check (SAC).
  • Successfully pass a Federal Government-level background check.
