Position: Certified Stenographer

Jamison Professional Services, Inc. is actively seeking skilled and dedicated professionals for the role of Certified Stenographer.

Stenographer - Responsibilities, Qualifications, and Skills:
  • Provide stenographic support services, both remotely and in-person, with a willingness to travel for on-site requests.
  • Remote stenographic services can be facilitated via telephone, video conferencing, or online platforms.
  • Candidates must possess their own transcription equipment, such as a stenographic machine or recording device.
  • The Stenographer will read sections of transcripts during investigative hearings at the request of the investigator or administrative judge, and will seek clarification on any unclear statements.
  • Availability to provide services Monday through Friday, from 8 am to 5 pm, in accordance with the respective time zone within the Continental United States.
  • Candidates must be prepared to continue assignments if proceedings extend beyond one day.
  • All travel expenses incurred for assignments outside the local area will be covered by the company.
  • Candidates are required to arrive at the designated location at least 30 minutes prior to the scheduled hearing time; for telephonic hearings, contact with the presiding official must occur at least 30 minutes before the start time.
  • Candidates must hold a valid Notary Public license and be capable of administering oaths, along with carrying Notary Public Errors and Omissions Insurance.
  • Upon completion of each assignment, recordings must be submitted to the secure VPN portal of Jamison.
  • Stenographers must be certified in accordance with the relevant state laws where services are rendered. Certifications from the National Court Reporters Association (NCRA), National Verbatim Reporters Association (NVRA), and American Association of Electronic Reporters and Transcribers (AAERT) are recognized. Proof of certification must be provided upon request.

BACKGROUND:
  • A background investigation and clearance may be necessary for this role; a Tier One National Agency Check and Inquiries (NACI) and a Special Agreement Check (SAC) may be required.
  • U.S. Citizenship: Candidates must successfully pass a Federal Government level background check.

BENEFITS:
This position allows for work outside of contract services, provided it does not conflict with commitments to Jamison Professional Services, Inc.
Services will be performed ONLY as required by clients. Please note: THIS IS NOT A FULL-TIME ASSIGNMENT/EMPLOYMENT.
Employment will include paid federal holidays (based on hours worked - up to 8 hours per holiday), paid Personal Time Off (PTO – based on hours worked – up to 80 PTO hours per year), sick leave accrual (based on hours worked – up to 56 hours per year), and the option to enroll in a 401(k) plan (with up to 2% company matching based on employee contributions) through Transamerica Retirement Services.
The hourly compensation for this position is $4.22 as health and welfare.
