About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Sr. Automation Engineer to lead and mature our automation capability within our critical lines of business at MKS Instruments (MKS).

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive enterprise automation framework, standards, and governance principles.
  • Lead matrixed architects and IT professionals to ensure assignments are completed in accordance with established guidelines, policies, standards, and procedures.
  • Collaborate with multiple stakeholders to translate the overall organizational vision into team goals aligned with departmental and organizational objectives.
  • Facilitate the creation of actionable roadmaps, including emerging technologies, trends, and various architectural perspectives.
  • Oversee the planning, design, implementation, and measurement of IT systems, ensuring a balance between agility and reliability, stability, security, and efficiency.
  • Provide guidance on the implementation of large or complex projects and oversee progression while ensuring effective governance and planning processes.
  • Maintain an awareness of emerging technologies, industry trends, and regulatory changes, and provide direction on introducing, integrating, and assimilating new technologies to improve operational effectiveness and manage risk.
  • Participate in the evaluation and selection of vendors, review of contracts, and management of vendor relationships to ensure cost-effective and reliable IT services and solutions.
  • Partner effectively with 3rd party service firms in support of the MKS agenda and as enablers to the broader IT strategy.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders on the development of the technology capability roadmap.
  • Ensure compliance with established policies, procedures, and standards.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Management Information Systems, Engineering, Business, or other computer-related degree.
  • 10+ years of diversified IT experience.
  • 5+ years of IT Engineering experience.
  • 3+ years of experience in technical IT automation architect capacity.
  • Familiarity with cloud technologies, microservices architecture, and emerging technologies such as generative AI and its applications.
  • Familiarity with enterprise networking architectures, including segmented networks and SDWAN architectures.
  • Familiarity with Enterprise Architecture tools, CICD tools, DevOps, and DevSecOps.

  • Salary Pay Range: $100k - $120k per year.
