Position Summary:
The Industrial Maintenance Specialist plays a crucial role in executing a wide range of maintenance activities related to mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems, ensuring the efficient operation of textile production machinery and facilities. This position demands technical expertise in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining equipment while strictly following safety guidelines. The Industrial Maintenance Specialist will collaborate with fellow team members to enhance production efficiency and equipment dependability.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct regular preventive maintenance and inspections on textile production machinery to guarantee peak performance and minimize downtime.
  • Identify and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic problems in weaving, knitting, and dyeing equipment.
  • Interpret technical manuals, schematics, and diagrams to facilitate repairs and maintenance.
  • Carry out repairs and replace defective components to sustain machine productivity and efficiency.
  • Assist in the setup and commissioning of new textile machinery and equipment.
  • Engage in continuous improvement efforts to boost equipment reliability and operational efficiency.
  • Document maintenance tasks, work requests, and orders using a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).
  • Utilize electrical measuring tools to effectively diagnose electrical issues.
  • Apply knowledge of industrial electrical wiring and three-phase systems in maintenance operations.
  • Operate and maintain A/C and D/C motors and controls.
  • Manage plant air supply systems and chiller systems.
  • Oversee spare part inventory to ensure the availability of essential components.
  • Operate machine shop equipment, including lathes, milling machines, surface grinders, drill presses, band saws, and welding tools.
  • Support the implementation of safety measures and ensure compliance with all safety regulations.
  • Participate in safety training sessions and adhere to safe work practices consistently.
  • Promptly report any safety concerns or incidents to the supervisor.

Qualifications:

  • Comprehensive knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems relevant to textile manufacturing.
  • Proficient in interpreting technical manuals, schematics, and diagrams.
  • Experience with PLCs and other manufacturing control systems is a plus.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and capacity to work under pressure.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Able to work independently and collaboratively within a team setting.

Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma or GED required; technical or vocational training in maintenance-related fields is preferred.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience as a Maintenance Technician in a textile manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Demonstrated experience in troubleshooting and repairing mechanical and electrical systems in textile machinery.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 75 pounds regularly.
  • Capable of bending, turning, and lifting while performing job tasks.
  • Able to climb stairs and work on scissor lifts at heights of up to 20 feet.
  • Stand for extended periods, typically 8 hours, with appropriate break times.
  • Ability to work in environments with high temperatures and noise levels.
  • Manual dexterity to operate tools, machinery, and computer systems.
