Job Summary

The Connected Vehicle Technician is a key member of the IndyGo team, responsible for installing, troubleshooting, maintaining, salvaging, and managing the inventory of hardware and software components of our Intelligent Transit System vehicles.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor and maintain the Intelligent Transit System (ITS) CAD/AVL vehicle equipment and software configuration for all fleets.
  • Install, maintain, program, and repair various vehicle equipment items.
  • Manage inventory of CAD/AVL hardware and related general hardware.
  • Assist with warranty returns, tracking, and procurement of new equipment.
  • Handle CAD/AVL software versions and configurations.
  • Utilize software applications for monitoring and troubleshooting.
  • Document all installation, salvage, troubleshooting, and repair activities.
  • Assist with bench testing faulty equipment.
  • Provide technical assistance to other departments.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Conduct trend analysis to address recurring issues.
  • Complete any other assigned duties.
Requirements
  • An Associate degree in electronics technology/repair or related field.
  • 3+ years of professional experience.
  • Technical certifications.
Preferred Qualifications
  • A valid driver's license.
  • A basic understanding of vehicle electronic systems.
  • Proficiency with IT applications and trends.
  • Strong knowledge of vehicle electronics.
  • Ability to use essential tools.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficient in electronic installation, troubleshooting, and repair.
  • Capability to optimize systems and processes.
  • Knowledge of data communications protocols.
  • Proficiency in vehicle electrical schematics.
  • Basic cellular and wireless network proficiency.
  • Computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
  • Effective task and time management.
  • Detail-oriented and organized.
Working Conditions
  • Ability to work in an office environment with deadlines.
  • Work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Able to work various shifts.
  • Ability to stay stationary or move intermittently.
  • Physical capability to handle heavy items.
  • Local travel may be necessary.
