The Director of Compensation and Benefits is responsible for the strategic planning, development, design, and execution of all compensation, benefits, and total rewards programs, as well as HRIS/HR systems platforms. This role will play a key part in establishing the total rewards strategy, ensuring alignment with business objectives and compliance with legal and regulatory standards.
Key ResponsibilitiesTo excel in this position, the individual must effectively carry out the following functions:
- Lead the strategic direction and implementation of compensation programs, benefits, wellness initiatives, HRIS, and data analytics.
- Collaborate with senior leaders, hiring managers, and HR Business Partners to translate business strategies into impactful Total Rewards strategies.
- Assess existing and new plans for market competitiveness, regulatory compliance, and cost-effectiveness.
- Set the strategic direction for total rewards, including vendor relationships and service satisfaction.
- Guide executive compensation initiatives in partnership with external consultants as required.
- Oversee leave administration and enhance the associate experience regarding these programs.
- Demonstrate leadership in developing total rewards methodologies and policies.
- Ensure all compensation and benefits programs are competitive and aligned with strategic goals.
- Manage the HRIS system's strategic direction.
- Guarantee effective communication and implementation of compensation and benefits initiatives.
- Lead change management efforts associated with program modifications.
- Establish reporting and analytics for compensation data analysis.
- Serve as the primary authority on policies related to benefits and compensation.
- Continuously assess and improve reward programs for alignment with overall strategy.
- Chair the retirement planning investment committee.
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement in HR operations.
- Collaborate with the Chief People Officer on managing the HR budget.
- Innovate and challenge conventional processes to enhance HR outcomes.
- Work with HR and stakeholders to provide solutions through HR platforms.
- Enhance HR system capabilities and processes for optimal investment utilization.
- Oversee HR metrics and analytics, providing insights into trends and action plans.
The following qualifications are essential for this role:
- 10 years of experience in compensation and benefits, with 5 years in a leadership role.
- Experience managing benefits and total rewards programs, including executive compensation.
- Proven experience with HR technology platforms.
- Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Able to thrive in a dynamic, deadline-oriented environment.
- Excellent relationship-building and collaboration skills.
- Exceptional analytical skills, utilizing data for informed decision-making.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
The physical requirements for this role include:
- Ability to work in a fast-paced office environment.
- Ability to remain stationary for extended periods.
- Some local travel may be necessary.
A successful candidate will possess:
- A Bachelor's degree with 10 years of experience in Benefits Administration, or a Master's degree in Human Resources Management with 5 years of relevant experience.
