Position Purpose

The Connected Vehicle Technician (CVT) is tasked with the installation, troubleshooting, maintenance, and inventory management of the Intelligent Transit System's vehicular hardware and software components. This role operates under general supervision from the CVT Manager/Supervisor, allowing for moderate initiative and independent judgment.

Salary Range: $55,000 - $65,000 annually, based on education and experience.

Key Responsibilities

To excel in this position, the individual must effectively perform the following functions. Reasonable accommodations will be made for individuals with disabilities to fulfill these responsibilities:

  • Oversee and maintain the Intelligent Transit System (ITS) CAD/AVL vehicle equipment and software configuration across all fleets.
  • Install, maintain, program, and repair mobile computing devices, automated passenger counters, public address systems, LED signage, LTE cellular devices, GPS systems, mobile voice and data radios, antennas, and video surveillance systems.
  • Manage inventory for all proprietary CAD/AVL hardware and related general hardware.
  • Adhere to standardized procedures for warranty returns and tracking of proprietary hardware.
  • Assist in the procurement of both proprietary and general new equipment.
  • Oversee all proprietary CAD/AVL mobile software versions and configurations, including necessary upgrades.
