As a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) under the guidance of the Unit Manager or Charge Nurse, you will play a crucial role in delivering individualized care to residents in accordance with their specific care plans.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver essential personal hygiene assistance to residents as outlined in their care plans, including bathing, dressing, and toileting.
  • Ensure residents are dressed comfortably and appropriately for their needs.
  • Accurately document all care provided and update resident care plans as necessary.
  • Encourage residents to maintain their independence in daily activities and self-care routines.
  • Provide additional personal services such as reading, writing, and support with recreational activities.
  • Assist with meal service, hydration, and record intake accurately.
  • Measure vital signs, collect specimens, and follow skin care protocols diligently.
  • Respond promptly to residents' needs through call lights.
  • Assist with resident transportation and accompany them to appointments.
  • Support restorative and rehabilitative care efforts.
  • Foster teamwork and effective communication among colleagues.
  • Offer orientation and training to new staff members.
  • Adhere to infection control protocols and departmental policies.
  • Participate in in-service training sessions to remain informed and compliant.
  • Be prepared to work additional hours as required.
  • Perform any other assigned duties as necessary.

Qualifications:

  • Completion of a Certified Nursing Assistant Training Program.
  • Previous experience as a Geriatric CNA is beneficial.
  • Current Nursing Assistant Certification is required.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of resident information.
  • Proficient in both spoken and written English.
  • Capable of interacting with individuals with diverse needs and emotions.

  • Adherence to the departmental dress code.
  • Ability to work independently and responsibly.
  • Compliance with the code of conduct and identification procedures.

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to move throughout the day effectively.
  • Capable of lifting and moving objects weighing up to fifty (50) pounds.
  • Must be physically fit to meet the demands of the role.

HIPAA Compliance:

Demonstrates understanding of and adherence to the facility's policies and HIPAA regulations regarding the confidentiality and security of residents' health information.
