Job Overview: The Project Manager/Estimator plays a crucial role in managing and directing commercial roofing projects from start to finish. This position ensures projects are completed on schedule, within the defined scope, and adhere to budgetary constraints. Responsibilities include cost estimation, collaboration with clients and subcontractors, timeline management, and maintaining high standards of workmanship.

Key Responsibilities:

Cost Estimation:

  • Generate comprehensive and precise cost estimates for commercial roofing initiatives.
  • Review blueprints, specifications, and project documentation to ascertain the scope of work and necessary materials.
  • Solicit and assess bids from subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Formulate and present cost proposals while negotiating terms with clients.

Project Oversight:

  • Develop and manage project schedules, budgets, and resource distribution.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, subcontractors, and suppliers to guarantee timely project execution.
  • Track project advancement and modify plans as necessary to resolve issues or accommodate changes.
  • Work alongside the Construction Manager to ensure compliance with project specifications and quality benchmarks.

Client Engagement:

  • Serve as the main point of contact for clients, addressing inquiries or concerns related to the project.
  • Maintain effective communication with all stakeholders, including clients, team members, and subcontractors.
  • Prepare and deliver project updates and reports to clients and senior management.

Quality Control:

  • Ensure all work complies with industry standards, safety regulations, and company policies.

Administrative Responsibilities:

  • Keep accurate project documentation, including contracts, change orders, and financial records.
  • Process invoices and manage project-related expenditures.
  • Compile and submit progress reports and final project documentation.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related discipline is preferred. Relevant certifications (e.g., PMP, CCM) are advantageous.
  • Experience: A minimum of 2 years in project management and estimating within the commercial roofing sector.

Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of roofing systems, materials, and construction methodologies.
  • Proficiency in project management software and estimating tools.
  • Exceptional organizational, time management, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical documents.
  • Awareness of safety regulations and best practices in the roofing industry.

Working Environment:

  • Primarily office-based with occasional field visits.
  • May involve travel to job sites and occasional overtime.
