Job Description

The Texas Education Agency is seeking a highly skilled Senior Systems Administrator to join our team. As a key member of our IT Operations Division, you will be responsible for performing advanced computer systems administration work, including troubleshooting and solving complex problems with IT systems, automating processes using scripting languages, creating procedures, forecasting resource needs, improving and updating existing IT systems, and designing and implementing new IT systems.

This is an individual contributor role, with considerable latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment. You will work closely with our IT team to implement innovative technology solutions in a cost-efficient manner that supports the goals and priorities of the Texas Education Agency.

The successful candidate will have at least five years of experience as a systems administrator within an enterprise IT environment, with a strong background in cloud administration, server administration, and customer service. They will also possess excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to act as a technical escalation point for others.

Key Responsibilities
  • Configure and manage Microsoft 365 and Azure cloud environments
  • Administer and maintain an enterprise IT environment consisting primarily of Microsoft Windows Servers
  • Provide exceptional customer service, ensuring that all customers' tickets are resolved and closed in a timely manner
  • Perform eDiscovery work, working within the Microsoft Purview Compliance Portal to complete requests in a confidential and accurate manner
Requirements
  • Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university
  • At least five years of experience as a systems administrator within an enterprise IT environment
  • Strong background in cloud administration, server administration, and customer service
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
