Role Summary

This position will directly impact the history of space exploration and will require your dedication and detailed attention towards safe and repeatable space flight. You will be part of a diverse team of problem solvers who are relentlessly committed to a culture of safety.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Develop fuel cell fluid system verification tests in coordination with fuel cell test engineers.
  2. Develop test requirements, plans and procedures to ensure acceptable fuel cell fluid system performance.
  3. Conduct complete level leak check verification tests using snoop, helium leak detectors, flow meters, and dwell tests.
  4. Assist in evaluating hardware and system performance data from qualification and acceptance testing.
  5. Lead daily test operations, operate test consoles, direct technician work, and coordinate with internal customers.
  6. Travel to remote test sites to prepare and execute tests.
  7. Understand and troubleshoot fluid and instrumentation systems.
  8. Participate in design for test/manufacture/cost (DFx) reviews and root-cause analysis of test discrepancies.
  9. Optimally communicate development status, risks, and challenges to management.

Requirements

  • B.S. degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or similar.
  • Exposure to manufacturing and testing of fuel cell stacks.
  • Detailed understanding of fuel cell technologies and their applications.
  • Hands-on experience in software and/or hardware development, integration, systems engineering, testing experience.
  • Familiarity with the principles, concepts, and methods of systems engineering such as concept development, requirement definition, design solution definition, design reviews, implementation, integration, verification and validation, qualification, commissioning, or operations.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment while regularly providing imaginative and detailed technical solutions to sophisticated problems.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and graphical communication skills.
  • Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion.

Desired Qualifications

  • 3+ years of relevant experience in fuel cell stack and component research, development, and/or testing.
  • Experience with human-rated space vehicle development and verification.
  • Experience operating within a production configuration management environment.
  • Experience working with NASA on contract deliverables.

Compensation

Salary range for on-site WA applicants is $96,480-$128,640. Other site ranges may differ.
