POSITION OVERVIEW


The Financial Operations Leader will primarily ensure adherence to US GAAP, German GAAP, Sarbanes-Oxley, and financial governance standards, facilitating accurate reporting and documentation of financial transactions while spearheading the evaluation of operational outcomes to pinpoint performance discrepancies relative to planned objectives and strategies for enhancement.

This role directly influences policy implementation by driving improvements in working capital, reducing costs, and ensuring the effective integration of systems and reporting for any acquired entities.

The Financial Operations Leader is accountable for delivering weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual reports to Fortive Corporate, including comprehensive reconciliations for both book and tax purposes.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Oversee timely consolidated monthly financial closings. Manage the month-end and year-end closing processes, including journal entries, account reconciliations, revenue recognition, and various analyses.


Prepare the monthly consolidated financial package, which includes P&L assessments, balance sheet data, and reports for the US parent company and its subsidiaries.


Analyze monthly results - Provide operational insights to functional managers and collaborate with them to translate financial outcomes into a clear understanding of the underlying factors.

Enhance financial performance - Initiate projects aimed at improving operations based on monthly performance metrics.


Refine processes and procedures - Accelerate the closing process, minimize the number of journal entries, and supply cost information to functional users.

Safeguard company assets - Oversee balance sheet items, conduct periodic inventories, and perform audits.


Ensure the accuracy of accounting data/forecasts - Submit daily, weekly, monthly, and annual reports that accurately reflect the financial status of the organization.


Develop and implement new systems, controls, and data management practices to ensure the precision of accounting information and enhance P&L and balance sheet performance.


Establish effective management controls over departmental budgets, trend analysis, identification of countermeasures, and proactive guidance to management to support the achievement of corporate objectives.


QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS


Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, with a minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in accounting or finance, including at least 3 years in a manufacturing context.

Global experience is preferred.

At least 2 years in a management or supervisory capacity.

Strong grasp of SOX accounting principles.

Exceptional analytical and financial analysis capabilities with a keen attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.


Outstanding communication skills, with the ability to present analyses and findings clearly in both verbal and written formats to all levels of management and diverse audiences.

Proficient in analyzing financial data and translating it into actionable insights for non-financial stakeholders.

A self-motivated and independent thinker with a desire to thrive in a dynamic organization.

Ability to devise innovative solutions to challenges and pursue continuous improvement.

Capability to organize and manage extensive amounts of complex information while juggling multiple project priorities.

Desired Qualifications

MBA, CPA, CMA, or similar professional certification or advanced degree.

Experience in consolidating financials across multiple entities is advantageous.
