The Senior Financial Analyst plays a crucial role in supporting the Vice President of Finance. This position is tasked with overseeing the Asset/Liability Management Model (ALM) and the Current Expected Credit Loss Model (CECL) for Spero Financial.
This role encompasses the preparation of the ALM package and CECL modeling, which includes various balance sheet scenarios, loan loss projections, and the generation of analytical reports.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and maintain financial models to forecast profitability.
- Evaluate investment alternatives while assessing associated risks and opportunities.
- Analyze and report on the financial condition of the organization.
- Engage in the annual budgeting process and ongoing financial planning.
- Review financial transactions and results for accuracy and compliance.
- Identify and implement process enhancements.
- Create standard ad-hoc reports and dashboards to support decision-making.
- Utilize internal systems and external data to collaborate with cross-functional teams, producing relevant comparative reports that aid in strategic planning.
- Assist in the development and execution of policies related to asset liability management, investments, liquidity, and financial reporting.
- Support the VP of Finance and indirectly assist the CFO and Controller with special projects, including report preparation and data analysis.
- Provide insights on ALM model assumptions and scenarios aligned with financial objectives.
- Interpret ALM model results for internal stakeholders.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Experience: A minimum of five to eight years in a similar role is required. Candidates with over two years of experience in ALM are preferred. Familiarity with the Jack Henry Performance Suite (FPS) is advantageous.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in financial software, advanced Excel capabilities, and strong analytical skills are essential. The ability to present financial data through detailed reports and strategic thinking is crucial.
Education:A bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or a related field from an accredited institution is required.
Interpersonal Skills:This role necessitates significant personal interaction with various stakeholders, requiring a high level of confidentiality, diplomacy, and tact in communication.
Physical Requirements:The position primarily involves sedentary work with occasional lifting of up to 10 lbs. Candidates must be able to navigate stairs in emergencies and operate standard office equipment.
Working Environment:The role is performed in a climate-controlled office setting with minimal noise, conducive to focused work.
