Position Title: Advanced Manufacturing Engineer - Fabrication

Key Responsibilities:

  • Contribute significantly to the formulation of a comprehensive strategy for the development and execution of fabrication processes across Crown's global manufacturing sites.
  • Investigate current and emerging manufacturing technologies and spearhead their integration to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Create detailed business proposals for both short-term and long-term strategic manufacturing and capital initiatives, presenting findings to the leadership team.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design digital work aids that streamline fabrication processes.
  • Engage with plant teams (Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, Safety) to address production challenges as they arise and implement effective solutions.
  • Maintain relationships with equipment suppliers and stay updated on innovative technologies within the industry.
  • Demonstrate a strong commitment to supporting company objectives through innovative methodologies, lean principles, and the application of advanced technologies.
  • Oversee medium to large-scale projects.
  • Mentor and develop Manufacturing Engineers and Process Technicians.

Reporting Structure:

This role will report directly to the Advanced Manufacturing Engineering Manager.

Qualifications:

  • 8-15 years of relevant experience in manufacturing engineering.
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field (or 15+ years of equivalent experience without a degree).
  • Valid driving privileges and willingness to travel frequently (6-20%) with potential overnight stays.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with fabrication processes, equipment, and lean methodologies.
  • Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, SketchUp, NX, etc.).
  • Exceptional leadership and coaching capabilities.
  • Strong analytical and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent communication skills to facilitate discussions across all levels of the organization.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Willingness to travel, including potential international assignments.
