Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee quality initiatives and product development milestones to support design, critical features, and reliability assessments for product development teams.
  • Facilitate quality department operations to ensure that design specifications are effectively communicated at the unit level, and that suitable inspection, measurement, product, process, and testing controls are implemented.
  • Accountable for the formulation and oversight of the Quality Plan for products in development. Offer support and analysis necessary for the qualification and compliance of new products.
  • Deliver method and design impact assessments to manufacturing engineering and production management based on process capability studies aimed at continuous improvement. Assist in the creation and revision of processes that significantly affect product, process, and/or equipment.
  • Assist with measurement system evaluations. Aid in the development of production testing systems to gather, analyze, and report data for ongoing enhancements.
  • Engage in the analysis and reporting of warranty returns, providing insights regarding their implications for current production and new product development.
  • Support the establishment of standard operating procedures for essential job functions and processes.
  • Prepare and present professional reports, project updates, and management presentations.

Qualifications:

  • A bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline, or equivalent experience is required.
  • Strong preference for candidates with knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T), process capability, and statistical process control (SPC).
  • Certification as a Quality or Reliability Engineer from ASQ (or equivalent) and/or PMP certification is advantageous.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel is essential for this role.
  • Formal or informal training in problem-solving methodologies (such as six-sigma, Red-X, 8D) is preferred.
  • Flexibility to commute to and work at various company locations is necessary.
  • Willingness to travel 10-20%, including some international travel, is required.
