Key Responsibilities:

Patient Interaction:

  • Greet and assist patients and visitors in a professional manner.
  • Address inquiries and provide information within your scope of practice.
  • Manage incoming calls, documenting messages accurately in medical records, and ensuring timely follow-up.
  • Facilitate communication among medical personnel, administrative staff, and patients or their families.

Clinical Duties:

  • Maintain and update patient medical records with accuracy.
  • Schedule appointments efficiently.
  • Process medical requests, including prescription refills, school notes, and necessary documentation.
  • Scan and upload clinical documents into the patient's medical chart.
  • Coordinate and process medical provider orders for diagnostics, referrals, medications, and surgical procedures.
  • Review daily schedules to ensure all necessary supplies and records are prepared for patient encounters.
  • Provide patient education as directed by the medical provider, within your professional scope.

Environmental Responsibilities:

  • Ensure cleanliness and proper setup of examination and surgical rooms.
  • Contribute to maintaining a tidy and organized workspace.
  • Monitor clinical supply levels and request replenishments as necessary.
  • Maintain clinical equipment, assessing for any damage or maintenance needs and reporting issues promptly.

Qualifications:

Education:
Completion of an accredited medical assistant program is required.

Experience:
Prior experience in a medical setting is preferred.

Certifications:
Basic Life Support Certification is mandatory. Registration with the American Medical Technologists or certification with the American Association of Medical Assistants is preferred.
