Position Overview

A Bloomingdale's Merchandising Professional is essential to our stores, ensuring the seamless execution of tasks aimed at creating a tidy, organized, and engaging shopping environment for our customers. Responsibilities include merchandising products on the sales floor, organizing merchandise for events, executing markdowns, managing returns to vendors, reticketing projects, replenishing stock, and processing damages while maintaining organized product displays and easily navigable stockrooms. To fulfill our mission of being a unique retail destination, our Merchandising Professionals exhibit speed, attention to detail, a collaborative spirit, and teamwork to facilitate an enjoyable shopping experience for our customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Welcome and greet all customers while on the sales floor
  • Manage all aspects of the merchandise journey


Required Competencies
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a proven ability to communicate and share information with diverse groups of customers and colleagues.
  • Resourceful and able to adapt quickly to changing priorities.
  • Self-starter who works well independently as well as part of a team.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule with retail hours, including days, evenings, weekends, and/or holidays.


Physical Requirements
  • Position requires prolonged periods of standing/walking around the store or department.
  • May involve reaching, crouching, kneeling, stooping, color vision, and climbing ladders.
  • Frequent use of computers and other technology necessary to perform job duties, including handheld electronic devices.
  • Regularly lift/move up to 50lbs.
