Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our pediatric team at Advocate Aurora Health. As a Registered Nurse, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our healthcare team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide ongoing care to patients, utilizing the nursing process to assess, plan, intervene, and evaluate patient needs.
  • Recognize and respond to changes in patient status, prioritizing care based on essential patient needs.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams, ensuring accurate and timely information exchange.
  • Document patient information, maintaining accurate and up-to-date records.
  • Perform laboratory procedures, assist with procedures and surgeries, and administer medications as prescribed.
  • Initiate, maintain, and discontinue IV therapy, mixing medications according to protocols.
  • Assess and provide patient education, counseling, and health promotion, integrating preventive aspects of care.
  • Follow through with necessary procedure or test requests, prescription refills, new appointment times, and referrals to other facilities or services.
  • Perform advanced clinical tasks, such as removal of sutures and staples, catheterization, and laboratory procedures, with demonstrated competency and under clinical supervision.
Requirements
  • Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which the team member practices.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) within 6 months.
  • Associate's Degree in Nursing.
  • No experience required.

  • Demonstrated ability to make critical, independent decisions.
  • Excellent organization, prioritization, and problem-solving skills.
  • Leadership skills, including delegation, organization, prioritization, and building team rapport.
  • Proficient computer skills, including keyboarding, navigation within a windows operating system, use of electronic mail, and electronic medical records systems.
