Key Responsibilities- Assessment and Care Planning: Conduct thorough assessments of patients' physical and emotional needs, develop and implement individualized care plans, and provide ongoing evaluation and revision of care plans as needed.
- Education and Support: Provide education and support to patients and their families on disease management, treatment options, and self-care techniques.
- Collaboration and Communication: Work collaboratively with healthcare teams, including physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals, to ensure seamless care coordination and communication.
- Quality Improvement: Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes, safety, and satisfaction.
- Professional Development: Stay current with best practices, research, and evidence-based guidelines in oncology nursing, and participate in ongoing education and professional development opportunities.
- Education: Associate's Degree in Nursing or higher.
- Experience: At least 2 years of experience in an acute care setting, preferably in oncology nursing.
- Licensure: Current Registered Nurse licensure in the state of practice.
- Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification and other relevant certifications as required by the organization.
- Physical Demands: Ability to sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, twist, crawl, kneel, climb, and reach above shoulders throughout the workday.
- Mental Demands: Ability to work independently, make sound judgments, and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Work Environment: May be exposed to chemical and hazardous waste, as well as blood and body fluids, and must wear protective clothing and equipment as necessary.
- Equipment: Operates all necessary equipment to perform the job, including medical devices and software.
