This position is primarily on-site.
Key Responsibilities:
- Facilitate two to three GTP classes annually, typically comprising 30-60 students, most of whom are recent engineering graduates. These classes are structured to prepare students for careers in HVAC sales and marketing.
- Advise on and implement blended and asynchronous learning methodologies as part of the GTP program's modernization.
- Explore innovative ways to integrate technology into the classroom and transition L&D to video and virtual training formats for broader use.
- Mentor students individually to enhance their learning and professional growth.
- Teach essential professional skills, including communication, goal setting, ethics, time management, teamwork, leadership, assessment, public speaking, and personality impact.
- Engage in role-playing and other sales activities to support sales training.
- Develop creative teaching strategies to captivate early-career students.
- Collaborate with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to gather and curate content for GTP and wider audiences.
- Contribute to corporate-wide L&D initiatives.
- Evaluate student performance and provide constructive feedback through grading and coaching.
- Coordinate with and assist fellow GTP staff members.
- Enhance your own skills in areas that benefit you, the team, and Trane.
- Occasionally teach additional classes to non-GTP students upon request from other departments.
- Maintain availability for GTP classroom hours, typically from 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM on class days. Instructor lecture times may vary, and attendance at other lectures is encouraged. Typical working hours range from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with occasional additional time required for grading and course design. Social events with students also occur throughout each class.
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field from an accredited institution.
- A minimum of five years of experience in HVAC technical topics, with teaching experience preferred.
- Proficient in English, both spoken and written; proficiency in Spanish or French is advantageous.
- Skilled in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and TEAMS.
Annual base salary: $100,550 to $159,950Additional compensation includes an incentive plan.
