Senior Compressor Design Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Compressor Design Engineer to join our Advanced Technologies Applied Compression team at Trane Technologies. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in the design and development of innovative compressor solutions for our customers.
Responsibilities- Design and develop screw and/or centrifugal compressors from concept selection to detailed drawing, including pressure vessels, castings, bearings, lubrication systems, and seals.
- Specify, select, and apply motors in compressor applications, and perform stress and deflection analysis, rotor dynamics, and vibration analysis.
- Facilitate design reviews, conduct design FMEAs, and develop and execute virtual engineering and physical testing validation plans.
- Collaborate with engineering teams across the business to provide compressor selection recommendations and refine design to meet application needs.
- Stay up-to-date with new technology through supplier relationships, participation in technical societies, academic research projects, and conferences.
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
- Minimum of 5 years' work experience in product design and development.
- Strong mechanical design and engineering skills, with practical hands-on hardware experience.
- Subject matter expertise in one or more aspects of mechanical design.
- Ability to select proper modeling and simulation tools, understand outputs, and integrate information to make informed engineering choices.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with ability to communicate up, down, and across the organization.
- Knowledge of HVAC/R fundamentals.
- Excellent analytical, mathematical, project management, and problem-solving skills.
