Diesel Shop Manager

Astleford International & Idealease is seeking a seasoned diesel shop manager to lead our teams and drive business growth in Minneapolis. This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled professional to join our team and contribute to the success of our organization.
The Diesel Shop Manager will be responsible for supervising a team of highly skilled technicians, directing workflow to ensure safety and productivity, and managing profit and loss responsibilities. This role requires strong leadership skills, excellent communication, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Main Responsibilities:
- Supervise employees performing maintenance shop activities, including hiring, training, and evaluating employees.
- Review work orders, assign tasks, and verify quality of work performed.
- Maintain open communications with division departments to ensure effective operations.
- Monitor and control departmental performance, making recommendations for process changes as needed.
- Anticipate equipment and parts needs, procure necessary items within assigned spending limits.
- Serve as first step supervisor in employee internal dispute resolution process.
- Road test vehicles as needed to determine necessary repairs.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a leadership role, preferably in the transportation industry.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with employees and stakeholders.
- Familiarity with inventory management systems and procedures.
