Heavy Duty Diesel Equipment Technician

At US Foods, Inc., we are seeking a skilled Heavy Duty Diesel Equipment Technician to join our team.
SalaryThe estimated salary for this role is $32.05 per hour, with opportunities for overtime compensation and a retention bonus.
Job DescriptionAs a Heavy Duty Diesel Equipment Technician, you will be responsible for troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing diesel equipment such as tractors, trailers, and reefers. You will ensure compliance with safety regulations and perform preventative maintenance tasks within company standards.
You will also complete documentation of all repair orders, PM lists, and parts accountability. Additionally, you will handle road service calls, perform road rescue/transport equipment as needed, and maintain a clean and safe work environment in compliance with workplace safety rules and regulations and government guidelines.
Your duties will include maintaining inventory and proper recordkeeping, backing up other maintenance shop personnel, and willingness and capacity to assume increased responsibility and certifications.
Required Skills and QualificationsTo be successful in this role, you must have at least 3 years of verifiable hands-on experience as a heavy duty commercial diesel mechanic or reefer mechanic or a combination of both. You should also have diagnostic and troubleshooting competency relating to equipment repairs, successfully demonstrated independent analytical and problem-solving skills, and prior experience in administering appropriate PM programs.
Must furnish own personal hand tools, CDL A, and DOT certification preferred. You should have the ability to comply with EPA and OSHA regulations, read and understand technical and service manuals, excellent communication skills, and ability to manage multiple functions simultaneously in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
