Overview:
NFI Massachusetts Inc., a dedicated non-profit organization focused on human services, is currently in search of a Safety and Security Specialist for its Intensive Residential Treatment Programs.
About the Programs:
The Intensive Residential Treatment Programs (IRTPs) are short-term, secure facilities designed to support both male and female youth experiencing significant mental health challenges. These programs serve adolescents with serious mental illnesses and/or severe emotional and behavioral disturbances.
Role Responsibilities:
The Safety and Security Specialist will be responsible for overseeing all security-related functions within the facility.
Key Duties Include:
- Ensuring the safety and security of the facility, staff, and clients.
- Understanding and adhering to all site-specific policies and procedures.
- Developing and implementing comprehensive emergency response protocols.
- Utilizing advanced wireless technology systems.
- Working effectively in various weather conditions, including extreme temperatures.
- Engaging in ongoing training and professional development.
- Conducting crisis prevention and intervention, employing de-escalation techniques as necessary.
- Completing additional tasks as assigned.
All responsibilities must be performed in accordance with the organization's policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
Applicants should possess a high school diploma or equivalent, or have five (5) years of relevant experience. Candidates must be at least twenty-one (21) years old and demonstrate a high energy level along with exceptional interpersonal and customer service skills.
Additional Requirements:
- Strong oral communication abilities.
- A valid driver's license with a minimum of one (1) year of driving experience.
- Capability to lift up to forty (40) pounds.
- Ability to navigate stairs, ramps, and ladders.
- Excellent vision and hearing.
- Proficiency in reading and speaking English.
- Successful completion of all mandated background checks.
Compensation:
The hourly rate for this position is $19/hr.
