About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Laboratory Technician to join our team at the University of Washington. As a Clinical Laboratory Technician, you will play a critical role in patient care by performing specimen processing tasks, providing customer service, and utilizing problem-solving skills to resolve specimen or order-related problems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform specimen processing activities, including receiving, sorting, and prioritizing specimens and requests
  • Provide customer service by responding promptly and professionally to phone, written, and window reception inquiries
  • Share knowledge and expertise with other staff members by teaching, training, and sharing practical knowledge
  • Utilize problem-solving skills to resolve specimen or order-related problems in a timely and accurate manner
Requirements
  • High school graduation or equivalent and one year of chemical, clinical, or public health laboratory experience
  • Completion of a laboratory assistant course approved by the American Society for Clinical Pathology
  • Medical Assistant – Phlebotomist (MA-P) certification with the WA State Department of Health
