Job Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented Laboratory Assistant to support our laboratory operations. The ideal candidate will assist in the collection and processing of specimens, perform venipuncture and phlebotomy techniques, and maintain aseptic techniques while handling specimens.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collect and process specimens, including blood and other biological samples.
  • Perform venipuncture and phlebotomy techniques with precision and adherence to safety protocols.
  • Maintain aseptic techniques while handling specimens to prevent contamination.
  • Support laboratory technicians in conducting various laboratory tests and procedures.
  • Ensure proper labeling, storage, and documentation of specimens in accordance with laboratory protocols.
  • Conduct routine maintenance and cleaning of laboratory equipment and workspaces.
  • Follow established laboratory procedures to ensure compliance with health regulations and safety standards.

Requirements:

  • Knowledge of anatomy and physiology is preferred to understand specimen processing requirements.
  • Familiarity with clinical laboratory techniques and procedures is highly desirable.
  • Experience in specimen collection processing, including venipuncture, is a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow precise instructions accurately.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
