Position Title: Maintenance Technician II (multi-craft technician specializing in mechanical and electrical systems)
Work Schedule: PM Rotating Schedule: 7:00pm - 7:00am, 2 on 2 off, 3 on 2 off, 2 on 3 off, etc. A shift differential of $1.25 is offered for overnight shifts.
Role Summary:
This role involves executing both preventive and corrective maintenance tasks essential for the plant's manufacturing operations. The Maintenance Technician's primary focus includes adhering to PM schedules, addressing equipment repairs to sustain optimal production levels, and managing an adequate inventory of spare parts. Flexibility to work over 40 hours weekly, including weekends and on-call duties, is required.
Key Responsibilities:
The duties of this position encompass, but are not limited to:
- Diagnosing and repairing machinery and their control systems (including plastics, DC/AC motors & drives, downstream equipment, chillers, etc.).
- Enhancing job skills through participation in company training programs.
- Identifying, specifying, and procuring replacement parts and control components from suppliers as necessary.
- Contributing to CMMS performance by completing PM & Repair Work Orders promptly while ensuring compliance.
- Acting as the first responder to machine troubleshooting issues, coordinating with Electrical Engineering for additional support when required.
- Supporting Daily Management directives and initiatives.
- Assisting in the development and implementation of Continuous Improvement projects aimed at enhancing production efficiency and safety.
- Collaborating with Production Staff to guarantee the safe and reliable operation of plant equipment.
Required Skills:
The ideal candidate should possess the following skills and knowledge:
- Proficiency in using Electrical Test equipment: Voltmeter, Ammeter, ohm meter, Megger, etc.
- Understanding of basic machine functions and the Sequence of Operations for production machinery.
- Experience in interpreting Electrical, pneumatic, and mechanical schematics.
- Familiarity with NEC, UL508A, and NFPA 79 codes.
- Knowledge of Lock Out Tag Out Safety procedures.
- Understanding of Arc Flash and PPE Requirements.
- Strong mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and pneumatic troubleshooting skills.
- Demonstrated leadership abilities with effective time management and task prioritization skills.
- Solid understanding of electrical formulas and mechanical mathematics.
- Knowledge of 3 Phase Industrial wiring and power distribution.
- Experience with AC & DC Drive/Motor PMs, wiring, programming, and troubleshooting.
- Ability to troubleshoot PLC I/O and networking.
- Experience with Motion Training involving Servo Drives and Motors.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the capability to communicate effectively with plant personnel, company resources, and vendors.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Excel, and Word.
- Experience in Root Cause Analysis and Problem Solving.
Educational Qualifications:
High School / Vocational School Diploma or Equivalent - Required
Technician level - Electrical, hydraulics, pneumatic.
Preferred Experience:
- 2 to 5 years of experience in Industrial Maintenance, Electrical Systems, and Controls.
- Knowledge of plastic processing is advantageous.
