Insurance Risk Consultant

We are seeking a highly motivated and results-driven Insurance Risk Advisor to join our team at The Michael Gibbs Agency - American Family Insurance. As a key member of our sales team, you will be responsible for marketing, prospecting, and selling American Family Insurance products to new and existing clients.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and maintain a deep understanding of the local market dynamics to identify business development opportunities for life product lines.
- Utilize consultative selling techniques to sell life insurance products to new clients and help the agency grow.
- Proactively cross-sell and coordinate with agency team members to provide additional coverage to existing clients.
- Prospect for new business through leads, telephone calls, networking events, trade shows, and personal contacts.
- Secure new business through individual effort and established lead methods.
- Prepare quotations and applications and deliver effective presentations to close sales.
- Comply with underwriting guidelines and contact the appropriate division for underwriting guidance when needed.
- Conduct sales and review appointments with prospective and current customers.
- Meet and exceed sales goals.
- Develop, maintain, and cultivate community contacts to enhance agency visibility and maximize new business opportunities.
- Participate in events designed to promote brand awareness and educate consumers.
- Retain existing customers by providing industry-leading client experiences.
- Ensure completion of requested account and policy updates and changes.
- Coordinate the involvement of appropriate agency and/or business partners when necessary to resolve client issues.
- Continually improve knowledge in the area of specialization, the insurance industry, products, underwriting requirements, sales, customer service, and supporting technology.
- Participate in continuing education and professional designation programs.
- Required by state statutes to have proper insurance licensing to sell, solicit, or negotiate insurance products. The following line of authority is required for this position: Life.
- Valid driver's license required.
- Ability to work independently to plan, set priorities, and organize work.
- Active involvement in the local community.
- Demonstrated sales and customer service experience.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated analytical skills.
- Experience with PC software applications (Microsoft Office Suites, Internet Explorer, etc.).
- Experience using a wide range of digital devices such as smartphones, tablets, and laptop computers.
- Experience with social media platforms, including but not limited to Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, YouTube, Instagram, Google+, LinkedIn, etc.
- Demonstrated knowledge of insurance concepts and principles.
- Demonstrated effective life insurance prospecting and sales experience.
- Non-typical schedules (evenings or weekends) may be necessary on occasion.
- General office setting.
- Remote work and in-office schedule.
