We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our Loan Distribution team as a Vice President in New York. The successful candidate will be responsible for originating, underwriting, and executing syndicated loan transactions in the Americas across various sectors.
Key Responsibilities- Monitor market trends to identify active participants, prevailing market terms, and pricing to inform lending and underwriting decisions.
- Pitch and advise clients on market conditions, structures, and syndication strategies to achieve optimal execution in the syndicated loan capital markets.
- Originate, structure, and negotiate syndicated loans, collaborating with ING's Sector teams to develop market-based structures and capital raising solutions.
- Manage the execution of syndicated loans, including negotiating terms and conditions, preparing marketing materials, and engaging with banks and law firms.
- Develop relationships and maintain dialogue with peers at other financial institutions to gather market intelligence.
- Organize bank meetings and lender calls to generate demand for deals led by ING.
- Develop and mentor junior members of the Loan Distribution Group.
- Ensure compliance with ING policies for investors and accurate financial revenue reporting and record keeping.
- 6+ years of experience in loan syndications, lending, or related sector areas, with strong current relationships or relevant work experience in an investor-facing environment.
- Strong presentation and communication skills, with the ability to express ideas persuasively, organized, and articulately.
- Strong credit skills and ability to assess underwriting risks, with a track record in at least one or two sectors covered by LDG in the Americas.
- Ability to understand complex financing structures and legal documents.
- Relevant experience in pitching, structuring, and negotiating loan transactions.
- Deep knowledge of the loan capital markets, loan investor base, and financing structures relevant to target sectors.
- Ability to work under tight deadlines on active mandates in the syndicated loan market.
- Strong networking skills, both internally and externally.
- Genuine team player who gets things done and helps others to be successful.
